Jones at the time she was going to college, was recognized as one of the top hurdlers. She was the champion of the 100-meter hurdles during the NCAA Track & Field Championship. Also, she participated on the runner up team for 100-meters relay. Jones was the NCAA Champion in indoor hurdles both in 2013 and 2003. Jones was a professional athlete with the year 2005, after she finished her education. She started training for a successful track career. In 2005, she was first in Torino Memorial race. The family was raised and born from Cape Town South Africa Brandt immigrated with her family to Auckland New Zealand in her in her late teens.
