Yael Stein Yael Stein, who is Australian living in New York City since 2013 was the character Lorna Morrello's character in Orange Is the New Black. Yael completed her studies at NIDA. Yael enjoyed the privilege to be able to collaborate with the best storytellers in Australia. She's worked behind the scenes on film, television and the theatre. Yael is a renowned actor with a thriving career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael has made New York City her home in the wake of the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced the critically acclaimed production. Yael has co-founded The Cannery. From a Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery promotes new ideas in creative writing, as well as innovative creative initiatives, and encourages the growth of writers in their teens.
